I've added some links for further reading at the bottom.... Please let me know what you think of this. If passed in Washington State, do you think that would set up a precendent to pass similar initiatives in other states, perhaps even on a national basis?

Totally think they should pass it. After all, marriage is a state-recognized institution to further the voting base and nothing more.

I think it's a load of crap, and it's not going to pass. Washington State is too liberal.

Also, it would discriminate against people who are infertile. Just because someone cannot physically have kids doesn't mean they can't be in a loving marriage.

This pisses me off. I wish the fucking right wing assholes would keep their noses out of everyone elses bedroom! Why don't they get fucked already!

The crazy thing is it's the pro-same-sex marriage lobby that's bringing this initiative up. If I understand correctly, they added in the absudities like considering anyone who has children together legally married and the prevention of legal separation or divorce in marriages with children involved to make it so that it wouldn't pass. I think it's insane, but in a way a clever way to bring their issues to logical debate.
