Bad Habit Resurfaced: OCs!

Jul 16, 2009 11:51

Continuing the last rant regarding my Vampire Knight's disappointment.

The disappointment led to my experiment if I put an OC as a new love interest for Zero. And you know, when I tried to flesh up their relationship, it ended up into more than a hundred pages in one document! O_o What the-?  FYI, it's written in word with normal format (Calibri, 11).

And the story kinda started at an odd starting point, after finally Yuuki and Kaname got married, Zero went to Paris, France, where my OC, Misaki were currently studying in. I want to post the story in LJ, but I don't want to confuse anyone who stumble on my story and read it. So to make it easy, I shall introduce my OC first.

Hisakawa Misaki

Eyecolor:  clear blue
Haircolor:  golden

Misaki was a year below Zero, Yuuki, and Yori, making her a year younger than Yuuki and two years younger than Zero. She was in the first year (10th) when Zero was in the second year (11th) of high school in Cross Academy. That was when they first met.

The Meeting
They never knew or met each other until she stumbled onto him when he was finishing a stray vampire within the school grounds. She was surprised but not scared, and to Zero's suprise, she identified him correctly as Kiryuu Zero, earning a violent reaction from him. Instead of getting suprised, she calmly told him that she was looking for him because she wanted his help. Zero, being a distrustful man he was, didn't believe her, but released her who told him if he was interested, she would be in the rooftops every lunch break.

Zero tried to get more information about her, but didn't get much, only that she lost her only parent few years ago and inherited all the belongings. He kept an eye on her, but she appeared to be a normal girl. He never gave another thought of her afterwards, especially with the events unfolding around him and the new responsiblity he was being prepared for. Until one day they passed each other in the hallways and she whispered a warning of what would happen. Only to find out that actually happen.

Zero finally met her at the rooftop as she told him, seemingly unsurprised that he finally took the offer, reminding him of Kuran who seemed to know everything. She was the first to initiate the conversation, telling him everything she knew of the Kiryuu in surprising accuracy. She told him that she had been watching him, and waiting for the right time for ask his help. She revealed that she was the last surviving member of Aruda family who was known for their foresight and killed because of it. She wanted justice for the ones responsible, but she couldn't do it on her own.

Misaki told him why she needed his help because those people were among the most influential people in both vampire and human society and his path would cross with them sooner or later, with his new responsibility and with the Kuran's movement. She offered her assistance so he could keep up and stand with equal grounds with Kuran Kaname and reach whatever objective he had. In return she only wanted his cooperation whenever she gave him advice and directions and his discretion of her true identity. It was a worthy exchange, especially for a proud man like Zero was. So the moment he took her offer, their relationship started...

The Personality
Misaki was calm and reserved, and rather shy. She wasn't known for her good health, sometimes she didn't join Physical Ed classes. She interacted normally with others in her class, and was seen around with other girls, though she was also seen on her own at times. She was a smart and diligent student, as mentioned by the teachers. She appeared more open and direct to others whom she felt comfortable with, or whom she felt the need to. Zero seemed to be one of them. She was very sharp and observant, which she told him was an important requirement for an Aruda in order to fully utilize their foresight, and due to the same reason, she could be very detached so she wouldn't let her emotions get in way.

She mentioned to Zero that they were alike, for one they were the last remaining members of their families and they endured many things due to their gift as the descendants, forcing them to grow up in early age and indirectly made them share many similar traits.

The Interactions
Misaki mainly interacted with Zero, but there were times when she appeared before other characters to make some interventions of her own that sometimes were too rash and risky because she was simply human and she dealed with stronger humans and vampires that often got her scolded by Zero. Her interactions with Zero was rather unusual because of their similarities that made them often didn't hold back their thoughts and feelings around each other, which could end up them hurting one another, but because of the same reason, they trusted and respected each other easily and felt comfortable around each other. Meeting up on the rooftops became a habit for them both, even when they had nothing to say to each other. She gave blood to him once, making him the third person whom Zero had taken from. Zero had even broken down before her in one vulnerable moment. In the end, they had built a relationship stronger and deeper than between two people who had a contract with each other.

The Past
Misaki was the youngest child of Aruda Kouki and Akemi. She had four older siblings: Akari, the eldest and oldest sister;  Takahiro, the oldest brother; Shin, the second brother; and Hinata, the second sister. In Aruda family, most often the women had the strongest foresight, as it was the case with Akemi, who was the only surviving child of former Aruda whose twin died in a young age. Akemi was later married to her second cousin who also had a rather strong foresight for a male Aruda and chosen so he could support the weak-bodied heiress. Although it was an arranged marriage, both of the grew to love each other and had five children. After giving birth to Misaki, Akemi's already bad health slowly declined and led to her death.

Misaki remembered little of her mother and was taken care of by her older siblings, especially Akari whom she grew close to. In the early years, Kouki barely interacted with his youngest because Misaki reminded him of his wife and the warning of the child's future before Akemi's death. When it was found out that Misaki inherited her mother's health and strong foresight in the age of three, which signified the strength of her foresight, Kouki was the most shaken. He ordered the girls to share a bed so they could calm their sister whenever the visions appeared in her dreams which often came along with fevers and his children to never let Misaki out of their sight while he barely saw her. Seeing the look in her family's eyes, Misaki thought that they didn't like her, because her mother wasn't here and she was here, but it was denied immediately by Kouki who realized his mistake.

Slowly the people who disliked the Aruda's ability and influence went to wipe out the family members one by one, knowing that despite their foresight, they weren't invincible. At first it didn't reach the main family, but then when it finally got Takahiro, Kouki took drastic measures, moving the family into hiding and brought in Miyu who greatly resembled Misaki. Due to her foresight, Misaki was aware of everything, but couldn't do anything. When they sent people to finish her family, she was forced into a secret hiding place by Miyu who died in her place, making it seem that none of the Aruda survived.

Led by her instincts, she was later found by Hisakawa Kaoru a widowed lady who later adopted her and raised her like her own daughter. The lady managed to slowly pull her out of the shell she made after losing all of her family when she was 7. Misaki was stricken with grief when she realized the impending death of the kind lady, but was comforted by Kaoru herself and made her promise that she would be happy for her family and for her. After her death, she inherited everything Kaoru had and gained someone she could trust through Kaoru's chosen custodian, Hisakawa's family lawyer, Matsushita Shuichi.

During her peaceful years as Hisakawa Misaki, she observed the events in both societies and decided to intervene when she foresaw the actions taken by Kuran Kaname and the chain reaction it would bring by enrolling to Cross Academy.

The Aftermath
...Which leads to the point that I started my hundred-long story...

After Misaki and Zero reached the end of their deal, they maintained their cordial relationship. Misaki became the one Zero went to whenever he needed advice or assurance even after she graduated and went to study in Paris in order to become an architect by scholarship. Zero officially took up the responsibility as the president of the Hunter Association and became the most influential man in the hunters and by extension, human society. Until finally three years after high school graduation, Kaname and Yuuki were married with Zero's blessing. Regardless of his blessings, it was still difficult for him, so he went to Paris after the wedding.
