Yesterday we went to our local horse rescue centre, the Ada Cole stables, which have recently been rescued financially by the Redwings group. We were deeply impressed by the facilities, and the horses were in superb condition.

Horsie! I love me some horsie! lol When I was four I apparently called them "nippie-noppies" (I have no idea why, perhaps because of the sound of hoofbeats). I could never have one, but I love visiting my friend's horses. They always remind me of a cat in temperament. They'll come over and visit, but they're independent, too. These are especially wonderful in that they're rescue horses.

You're truly a very gifted photographer. I love the use of light and color in these. Thanks for posting them.

When I was two, we lived in a slum (tiny industrial houses with a WC in the back yard and only cold water in a kitchen tap) house with my gran and granny. The milk (which is often delivered to the door in the UK, even now) came round in a cart drawn by a bay Shire horse called Prince - and that was the point I fell in love with horses. When I was ten, I saved up my pocket money for three weeks so that, at that point, I could have a riding lesson.

Jean and I may have a horse when we both retire...

So this is why our father was ringing me rather than you.

For some reason the phrase 'Horse Rescue Centre' puts me in mind of Thunderbirds with a big shire horse dressed as Thunderbird 2.

They would have been more useful than 4x4's in the recent floods in Sheffield methinks!

Buy a horse for global warming. That's a pledge that Al Gore missed completely yesterday.
