its one thing to refuse somebody's help.
(being a meddling bitch, i offer unwanted help all the time. also, as a stubborn bastard, i refuse help all the time as a point of self reliance.)

but what what logical good reason would someone have for not just refusing reasonable sounding advice or seemingly selfless aid, but dismissing it just because ( Read more... )

I know i am guilty of this more often than others, and for me it generally because you are only being a feed a subset of data. Often times I will say something that presents only what I feel is relevant to produce an answer. The negative effect with this type of action become what you are witnessing, maybe your aid would put you into a position that introduces you to more information that I am willing to divulge, or maybe the non presented dataset makes your particular (and generally unexpected) advice no applicable.

But that’s just me, the person you are talking about could just be a straight up cuntbag.
