Ben was on his lunch break. It had been a rather boring lunch break thus far, and he was ready to be done with this day, and head home, but he wasn't quite there yet. He still had several hours to go -- and that wasn't all that encouraging.
He paused for a minute when his phone rang, and he hit send without even bothering to check the caller ID, knowing that it was likely to be someone important if they were calling him during work.
"Just...flyin'," she said with a shrug. "Was thinkin' maybe you would want some company...or somethin'." She wasn't going to acknowledge the fact that she needed a friend, or someone that knew her. That was just the thing. He knew her. He'd more than likely get the hint, she just hoped he'd do something about it.
