I agree with a lot but two things: rakin March 5 2009, 13:14:01 UTC
1) "I think bloodlines should be NST or higher."
I'm not sure if they are causing people not to polarize or the fact there is little to fight for that is doing it. I'm still up in the air about how I feel about bloodlines. I've seen some really deep characters come out of bloodlines. And I've seen where bloodlines have caused problems. /shrug

2)"We're essentially playing ancient vampires who are acting out the last years of their existence."

I SO disagree with this statement because if this were true then if anyone wronged me then I should just pop off and kill them. Why would I care about vampiric society? I'm in my last years! This seems to take away the options of screwing with people. Aka. Take/destory/mess with the following:
Status, Allies, Contacts, Haven, their territory or them.

1. Agreed, and there were cool giovanni and lasombra, but there wasn't two million of them running around either. I just think the same level of deepness can be achieved by being more vanilla, if that makes sense.

2. Good points. I think my words came out wrong, I'm not saying you should react with violence, but at the same time, people should act more decisively.

1. I think the vanilla should come out in the Covenants not with Clan/Bloodlines. In the old world, Clans guided your belief system. Pick Brujah. So there were two, three or four types of beliefs that could drive you. It was in your blood. Not so much now. Your belief is tied with your Covenant.

2. Gotcha.

The staking comment particularly resonated with me as it is something I've felt for a long time. Being put in a coma when a piece of wood is through your heart is *not* a weakness that needs to be modelled in combat. It is a strength of vampires that they are *only* put in a coma when a piece of wood goes through their heart. Every other species *dies*.

My opinion on staking is as follows: One should do the traditional "stake and mallet while the vampire is helpless" approach. Staking someone should involve a short time while the victim is already helpless. Otherwise you quickly ask the question "why can't I hit a human in the heart with this stake? I do it to vamps all the time!"

Believe it or not, I do listen to things like this. Some things, however, are out of my hands no matter how much I screw, yell, cajole, and convince.

That being said... wait for it....
