Mmmm, contacts. i remember when i first got mine - the part that blissed me out the most was that i had clear peripheral vision again, for the first time since i'd started wearing glasses at the age of 7. ...looking yourself in the eye. good point. An extra layer between you and yourself is gone maybe. does it feel gone between you and everyone else, too? and then the naked eyes plus the more honest appearance of transition, yikes :).
I always thought of myself as dressed as long as I was wearing my glasses, i.e., could see. If I couldn't see, I was blind and therefore vulnerable and therefore naked, at least on some psychological level, public decency standards notwithstanding. But with contacts I can see, so I'm not naked, but I am closer to everyone because the boundary is gone.

Isn't it great? You can't tell how many bears are wearing them because you rarely get close enough to see them... and LIVE TO TELL THE TALE! BWAH HAH HA!
So funny, I have them now and hardly ever wear them (my eyes get so dry and red in the winter). I should, but I feel silly putting them in on weekdays where I just sit and stare at a computer for 8 hours.
