If he were capable of meeting Leonardo in person then he would! But unfortunately he's busy at the moment and can only speak this way. ;A;]
Signore, I'm afraid I'm not from your time and that is why my face is not recognized by one such as yourself. So I must confess I know you only by your reputation and works, though it is a great honor to meet and talk with you even if it's not face to face. Though I have visited Florence I must also confess that I am from England, I learned much while I was there, however.
