[Several moments pass while Death waits at the front door wherein he may or may not notice the slight flutter of a curtain in one of the windows. Then, very carefully, the door is unlocked and pulled open. His "great-grandson", looking apprehensive, steps quietly aside to allow him in.]

[He nods as he walks in.]

Lost everything as well I take it?

[A nod.]

[It may not be new, but it's still a bit of a shock seeing Death this way. Slugger quickly closes and bolts the front door, then starts to lead Death into the kitchen.]

Did you get a letter?

...No, mister Door, there isn't a holiday right now. There is the Memorial Weekend, I suppose, but I still don't think it's related. Did you receive a letter in the mail, this morning?

I'm starting to think I'm one of the few though.

Two children of my household did not either, but the rest of us have. ...Hopefully this means you will be able to stay safe, but just to be sure, please remain inside with someone you trust. There is strength in numbers, and it's less risky than to be outside.

That is true. I will do that.

I'm quite fine. Just a little out of practise with having a human body again I suppose.

Mou... Well, I guess you can do human things again? Before, I don't think you could eat.

[Death is less immediately obviously affected by the situation, but she's definitely noticed something is amiss. That and the phone ringing off the hook]
