Dean defaults to this verse. BNW is heavily crossed with the current-canon Heroes universe, and also deals with rising tensions against meta-humans. Dean's in a relationship with Brooke ihadmittenson and the legal guardian of Cassie Holmes farsees . Dean's best bros with Sylar intuitivelyapt .
In BNW, Dean is well aware that he's in a Multiverse, and that there are multiple versions of people running around, so he will directly reference this fact, and refer to "other versions" of people. There are also a lot of people inexplicably back from the dead. They've learned to just roll with it.

Things get even more complicated when it turns out a pair of ancient wizard brothers named Michael and Lucifer have plans for Sam and Dean...
