i had those wild charms for you/but oh, my fire burnt them out

So I want to talk about The Kills. First of all, the important news is that I'm going to see them in concert which is still sort of blowing my mind a little bit, and like, the gig is at the end of the month so I should probably start believing that it's actually happening. I might have mentioned this before, but I don't cope very well with concerts ( Read more... )

Wow! That's a whole lot of thoughts :).
I don't really know anything about them so I can't really say anything useful (I only have Midnight Boom, which I do rather like), but they really do look amazing together, and the intensity of some of those photos is off the charts.

Enjoy the gig!
Especially if it's an all standing affair, if you start to get too overwhelmed by the people and the heat you can always move to the back (or maybe even outside to the smokers' area - at least it'll be cooler and quiet there).
Just take it easy, yeah? And have a wonderful time :)
*hugs*

Lol, well I'd been meaning to make a post about the new album for quite a while, so I guess all the thoughts built up. XD

Thank you! It is going to be all standing, I think, and I want to be near the front so I can see (I'm very short, lol) but as long as I feel like I have an escape route I should be fine. It's not like I've fainted at every gig I've been to, but because it has happened, I get extra-nervous.

God, I can completely see why you'd get nervous if you've actually fainted at gigs before. It must be pretty terrifying. Are you going with someone? It's always good to have back-up :)

It's always good to be at the front, especially if you're short! (I'm kind of below-average height for a guy (5'7ish) and I find it pretty hard to see what's going on at gigs a lot of the time so I can only imagine what a pain it must be if you're much shorter than that). If I'm at the front I often find it's best to be to one side, you can make a dash for the back more easily from there usually.
It's probably annoying and not very helpful of me to say it, but try not to let your nervousness overwhelm your excitement. I'm sure you'll be fine :D
And be sure to tell us all about it! :)

It is! Although I've fainted in other situations before too and by now I can sort of recognise the signs that it's about to happen, so it's not like I just keel over with no warning. XD And yeah, I'm bringing my sister with me, so she'll look after me I'm sure. :)

Lol, I'm about 5'2"! I'm pretty tiny. Thank you for the advice, anyway. I'm trying not to get too worked up about it because I think my mental state can cause the fainting sometimes, so if I just try not to think about the things that are scary I should be okay.

Is it?! Who wrote the original?

Gah, I'm so disappointed - back when I first decided I would see them if they came somewhere near me, part of the reason was because I wanted to see that stage dynamic in person (even if it made me feel totally awkward, lol). I mean, obviously they're still going to be amazing, but it is a shame.

Girl, I went to see them last month and they were amazing live.
I was a little disappointed by the lack of sexual tension that you mention, but overall they seemed happy just to be playing again together and they were really cute with each other.
In fact, these two pictures you posted are from the show I went to

I really like you Kills posts, btw.
Oh, and have you seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB08dPVvuJU&feature=share
Also, roadtrip fic is absolutely necessary.

Oh cool! I'm so excited. I mean, I've watched a few videos of more recent performances and even without the sexual tension they're obviously still amazing, so I'm sure I'll have a good time - I was just looking forward to seeing that vibe between them in person I guess.

I'm glad you like my Kills posts!! I have seen that video. Lol, I love the end. "We still have hope." "Oh my god. What's the next question, please??" And the few times that Jamie looks at her when they're playing. ♥

I've been thinking more about the roadtrip fic and I seem to remember them saying they actually went on a roadtrip, when they were writing Midnight Boom? They went to like, Mexico, maybe? So there's like, canon that I could base that on, haha.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

No but seriously, DO WANT. Angsty UST is the only way to go with them, really.
