Okay, I can sorta see how a werewolf or a vampire might make a bad wife. It's the whole wantin' to kill and eat you thing but you don't seem to want to kill or eat anyone so...I guess I don't get it.

I have no particular urge to kill or eat. Nor do I have any of the markings of a warlock, but that is what I must be. And why should one marry a Downworlder.

It is rather cruel to suggest that one would not be worthy of marriage merely by virtue of being Downworlder. [ She's told this to Will back then. She needs to remember that it really is just cruelty, not truth. ]

White trash? [ She's not certain what that means, but trash doesn't sound very complimentary. ] You are hardly trash.

Yeah, y'know, poor white kid that don't have a lot manners and usually pretty dumb.

[He's pretty beyond letting it bother him. Mostly because he accepts it and he's okay with being white trash.]

Your manners seem perfectly adequate to me. [ But then, she's also taking the City as the average for what manners should look like in a time other than hers. And he's been nice and well-mannered to her, very much. ]

You've seen my best side. [Really his manners aren't bad. It's more the drinking, fighting and sleeping around that bother people more than anything. That and he's dumb. There's only so far Tim Riggins is going to go. He'll never be a doctor or a lawyer.]

And is it not good manners to show your best side? [ She hasn't seen any of that, not really. At this point, though, it wouldn't make her stop liking him-- unless he stopped completely showing her the side she's seen so far of him.

Yeah, I guess so. [He hadn't really thought of it that way. It's unlikely everything he's shown her will disappear unless something very traumatic happens, like when Six was hurt.

He chuckles at her wince and helps her take the gloves off.] You did good.
