POOL PARTY :: There's a whole lot of rhythm goin' round

Jun 11, 2010 13:41

[Kurt is setting up his speakers far enough away from the pool on the back deck, trying to adjust the sound just right. Chips and other snack foods are laid out, ready to be feasted on, and his dad said he would order pizza for them later in the day. He promised to order from the one place Kurt actually likes, which serves the least greasy, most ( Read more... )

Tina is more than awkward with her towel wrapped around her shoulders. She's not really a pool party type, and she's uncomfortable in her swimsuit (a black one-piece), but she takes a handful of chips and munches self-consciously, smiling a little "Hey, nice party" and finding a poolside seat.

Kurt smiles at her, lowering his sunglasses to look her over in the most appreciative, nowhere near creepy way. He is Kurt after all.

"Why thank you. I love that bathing suit on you by the way. It's like the little black dress of swimwear."

She knows it's not creepy, and from Kurt she can accept the compliment graciously. "Aw, thanks. It seemed classic." That and she wouldn't be caught dead in anything with a Hawaiian print or a bikini, most likely.

Really, Artie is trying not to stare at his girlfriend, but teenage hormones are teenage hormones. He wheels over to sit beside her with a grin. "Hey, pretty lady," he says as he approaches her.

Brittany wasn't late! Or, at least, if she was late, nearly everybody else was later, which amounted to essentially the same thing in her mind. She'd bought both of the bikinis she was looking at, but sort of took Kurt's advice and wore the second to the party, under a pair of denim cutoffs. She all but bounced in, grinning, "Hiii!"

"You look adorable." Kurt goes to give her a hug but stops, frowning up at the sun. "It is way too hot for welcome hugs. Remind me to get you back when I'm covered in chlorine."

"Thanks." Brittany grinned, "You look good too."

"Nobody's jumped in the pool yet?"

"Not yet, but I'm tempted. I will if you will?"

People should be making a note in their diary. Artie is there wearing shorts and a t-shirt. No khakis, no dress shirt and definitely no sweater vest. He is sitting at the side, close to Tina, watching proceedings.

Oh yes, Kurt has every intention of making note. In fact, he takes a picture.

"This one is going on facebook."

Artie gives Kurt a sour look. "I do own t-shirts. I even wear them on occassion. My physio is used to them."

Burt checks in on the party, trying to keep his presence brief. He doesn't want to be intrusive, and chances are there's a game on right now anyway. He surveys the pool with a subdued joviality. His hands are in his shorts pockets.

"You kids try not to wreck the place."

He's thinking that the Glee Club really deserves this after everything they've gone through this year. He's proud of them, and proud of his son. He gives Kurt a nod, accompanied by a small, soft smile.

"You need anything, you let me know, alright?"

Kurt's busy attending to Brittany, but when his dad addresses him he looks at him with a grateful smile and a nod. "Yeah dad, definitely. You'll be the first to know."

"Isn't it?" Kurt looks at it lovingly, "I've made sure it looks amazing inside." One of the great things about having an inheritance? Refined living.

"That bathing suit is adorable on you, by the way. I was so worried you would come in almost nothing."
