I don't buy that Justin ever wanted the famous artist thing. I mean, I'm sure he didn't mind the praise, but when he was telling Linds and Brian in the last few eps that he didn't really want that, because Brian was more important and he'd be happier here, I actually believed him. I don't think he'll be happy in New York. He loves art, but he loves Brian, and he knows he can be happy (and even successful) painting anywhere.
Neither did I. I don't know why they felt the need to push that so strongly--I was never convinced Justin really wanted to go to NY. That's why I was so surprised when they announced he was going.
But I suppose the one thing that's good is that he mentioned he would be back...that it wasn't permanent.
Yes exactly. It drew a bit of a cloud over what I think could have been a really good moment and a really good place for it all to end, by tossing in something that seemed so out of character for Justin to, at least, the two of us. And I'm sure we aren't the only ones. And that's true about them mentioning he'll be back, that helps a bit, but I still don't buy he would have left at all honestly.
