Oh, NORRINGTON. I'm loving this version of him more and more. :)

Really, this is how Dead Man's Chest and At World's End should've gone. Well, alas, maybe not with so much rampant sexing (we are talking about Disney, after all), but with Norrington at his snarky best and fighting on the right side. And NOT dying.

Yes, admittedly his wit is particularly sharp in this chapter, probably, I am sure, due to the fact he has Barbossa to inflict it upon with particular viciousness. And to think, I actually had trouble recalling how to write Barbossa at first, especially right after the "And it's all because of you" line...until a friend of mind told me that he was "bonkers" and thus it occurred to me that he probably would tell Norrington to go to hell and play marbles in Portuguese, which in turn provided Norrington with what I really think is perhaps his best retort in the story thusfar. "I take your stay in Hell was more lonely ( ... )

I love it when my writing has that effect on people, especially given that I've considered pursuing an alternate career in comedy. Will and Elizabeth honestly surprised me in this one, but in a very good way, in that it was both hilarious and kind of adorable. And Barbossa...is bonkers. As soon as I recalled that, things worked out very smoothly with him.

Thanks very much for the review. Enjoy your happy whimperings.

Thank you so much! And if only Disney would actually make a film with a slash couple in it. Alas.

I've been told that sleep is for the weak, and through my highschool career I believed it. Then I got a job and sleep became like my holy grail: a never-ending quest for that glorious thing.

I do plan on finishing this story eventually, but life kind of forced me to break out of my immersion in the POTC films and the rhythm of daily mad writing, and it's hard to get back into the "groove" of it, as it were. There was a lot of time spent pondering and watching clips from the movies or even just staring into space making lots of "hmm...mmm?...Hmmmmmh" type noises as I wove a bunch of different ideas together in a quietly chaotic fashion, and it'll be hard to recapture where I was in that process and move forward again now that I've got more inertia than momentum. I do want to finish it, though.

I'd say that I live in hope, but I'm afraid I don't; I live in anticipation of Murphy's Law, but I am an opportunist and will find time somehow, ( ... )
