I really like all their conversations in this chapter.

And this: “When I value somethin’, Jamie, as a pirate I’ve a tendency to claim it. An’ I keep what’s mine.”

Yes yes YES!!!

This story keeps getting more intriguing. Can't wait to see what comes next! :)

I'm quite glad you liked it, and that I've continued to hold your interest. I'll be sure to try and keep it up. I can promise that the banter, at least, will continue to be quite entertaining for a while yet.

A lovely little interlude - you handled the transition from telling to showing quite well, and indeed, handled the 'telling' bit at the beginning quite well.

Can't wait for more!!

Thank you very muchly; I appreciate the observations. This chapter was definitely a bit of an experiment insofar as coping with the passage of time and thus having to cover various matters with far more telling than showing, which I'm always rather leery of. It's good to hear that I seem to have managed to do it satisfactorily.

You are most welcome. ^^ I think... yes, I'm fairly certain it was this chapter, I forgot to mention it but I noticed that at one point you referred to James' accent as 'British'. I'd think that he'd either actually think of it just as 'his usual', or as 'English', but be that as may, I still thought it fine!
