"Jack squawked like a perturbed quail," THAT is the best description for the noise Jack made than any I've yet read/thought of. xD

And great job on putting the movie into a new locale + new people + your story... I make no sense. Moving on then.

Thank you. Perhaps it ranks up there in hilarity and aptness with MarinaRusalka's description (in the story 'A Strange Lull') of a short-haired Norrington thusly: "His hair was cut short to fit under the wig and slightly damp with sweat. Rubbing made it stick up in little tousled spikes all over. He looked like a well-bred and very exasperated hedgehog."

And don't worry, I get it. I quite enjoy paralleling the movie whilst taking the scenes in rather different directions. Still trying to work out how to do that with various bits of AWE, but I think I'm getting there, concept-wise.

Oh, it definitely does. xP That was a hilarious line - heck, that whole story was quite funny. But yes, a 'perturbed quail'... *snickers*

xD Oh good. I can confuse myself at times, let alone other people. Oh that's good - some of the joy I get out of reading this sort of thing is seeing how well writers do work it all out concept-wise. It can be rather tricky. I remember thinking something out myself, for my version of Norrington & Jack & co after DMC/AWE.
