Fandom: Pirates of the Caribbean; Sparrington

Rating: NC-17

Disclaimer: I have no claim on POTC or the lovely characters who populate it, even if it seems that James Norrington has, somewhat disconcertingly, made himself quite at home in my head with no apparent plans to leave. Jack Sparrow's habit ( Read more... )

I've been away from Sparrington fandom for some time, though I've noticed how prolific you've been during my absence, and have been meaning to read and leave a comment on every update of your various storylines.

Aaanyway, finally took the time to read your latest (or the three chapters you've written so far), and fucking hell, I'm once again reminded why I love Sparrington so much. JESUS CHRIST.

I love your James to bits. Really. This is the way he should've been in canon. This is the direction they should've taken his character. And I'm not talking about the shagging-Jack-senseless bit (although I wouldn't have objected to that in the least...), but just the way he's trying to find his place in the world, still honourable, still finding a way to protect others without losing sight of what's right and wrong, without compromising his integrity ( ... )

I am blushing furiously and immensely flattered. Just so you know. Thank you for that; it's a lovely way to wrap up my evening. And detailed reviews just make me happy and thrilled and all sorts of good-for-my-ego sorts of things along those lines. Thank you and thank you again, especially for telling me (in all sorts of lovely detail) that everything I've essentially been trying to do with these characters has been a success--especially, in this one, with Jack and the whole avoiding-that-highly-lamentable-AWE-caricature thing, because I know exactly what you mean there ( ... )

May I please be in love with you for this? And with likeahurricane7 too? Seriously. Love.

The sequels that could have been... *sigh*

Much appreciated, darling.

And I plan to continue writing some of those potential sequels until I run out of inspiration juice and wither like a raisin.

This is intriguing- I love the way you're kinda keeping close to what happened in the film, but...er...not at the same time. 's'yummy. Also "And if I cannot come to terms with the way that the world really is, then I am not fit to serve in the position of commodore any longer."- is a perfect, perfect line.

(I appreciate I'm not being very coherent.)

Coherency is overrated. Trust me: I've learned this from spending time writing Jack Sparrow's dialogue.

I like twisting up the second and third films, it seems, so I'm glad that I seem to do it well. Thank you muchly.

And thank you for noticing that one; I was hoping that a few of those lines in James' speech there would have that oh-so-excellent ring that tends to strike a real chord of truth and justice-done.

*cackles gleefully* That was gorgeous, dahling! That final line, and bringing Ana into it, and just... *more mad cackling*

I was more of a *wibbles* earlier, though. But maniacal laughter wins every time.

"James gave a questioning hum, still not quite feeling verbal." <-- Win. Seriously.

And your characterization of Will is lovely. And Jack is still turning out excellent!

Thank you muchly, m'dear.

Anytime I've inspired maniacal laughter is usually considered a win for me.

And you can look forward to a bit more of Anamaria in the near future.

Excellent. ^^ I'm quite fond of Ana. Her disappearance in the second movie irritated me greatly.
