Book Review! The Lies of Locke Lamora, by Scott Lynch

This is Lynch's debut novel and it was highly recommended by a geek I know who generally has good taste.  When I picked it up at Border's, the cover told me that it was also recommended by George R. R. Martin.  So, was it a win?  It sure was.

I like Locke Lamora. The writing is a bit too gritty for my tastes, but I enjoy the world building and the characters. You'll enjoy Red Seas Under Red Skies, but it doesn't answer the questions I still have.

I thought Red Seas too bloody, but everyone's mileage varies on what they think is too much.

Locke Lamora was pretty dang bloody, so I'm wondering how he could get any more bloody without drastically changing his writing style. Hmmm . . .
