Finally finished Harry Potter!!  Only took 6 days (compared to between 6hrs & 2 days that it took most other people!)  And on happy news, I managed to avoid all spoilers this week :D  I know some people were disappointed by the book, and while I didn't like a few parts, I enjoyed it overall ( Read more... )

Thanks...I didn't respond, but I enjoyed your thoughts & prediction results about it :)

**SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE ELSE READING THIS**
Personally though, I was most saddened by Fred's death :(
**END OF SPOILER ALERT**

I got my book this last Saturday and I've read 521 pages, I'm a slow reader, plus I have to put it down and do other things too. I think I'll finish off the last 4th of the book this weekend. I have all the other books as a collection. When I got them, I'd remove the jacket and put it in a safe place where it wouldn't get the least bit damaged. After reading each book I put the jacket back on and wrapped them in acid free paper and they are all stored together with other misc. Harry Potter items. I did this so I can have a perfect set of books kept put away. I don't care if they never come to much value for re-sale, I just want a perfect set.

I also have both Gone With The Wind and Scarlett in hard backs and they are kept as a perfect set too.

I'm one of those people that finished it in hours. I came home from Canada, grabbed some drinks and a snack and just read and read until almost 2 a.m. I, personally, wasn't disappointed by it at all. My sister, on the other hand, was disappointed and angry for some reason.

I'm not sure of your reading tastes but if you're looking for a casual read, try the Shopaholic series, if you haven't already. It's funny and, as corny as the saying is, a "laugh out loud" sort of thing at some points. Though...the main char. pisses you off sometimes...

LOL. I wasn't disappointed much - I'm left with a few questions, and I didn't like *how* she wrote the epilogue, but overall, I enjoyed the book :)

Haha - I was being more sarcastic in my asking what to read now...I own so many books that I haven't read! LOL. I haven't actually read the Shopaholic series, as I don't usually read much chick lit, but I've heard they're funny, so I might try one...I imagine they're good for light reading :)

Yeah, I like the little questions left unanswered though. The epilogue was alright. It seemed like a quick "wrap it up and end it" thing.

I was the same and, all of a sudden, I tore into my book piles since Christmas. I'm not much for chick lit but a friend of mine swore by them and I needed some poolside reads. Definitely not something for the deep.

I'm one of those rare people who has no interest in HP. I only know a few who could care less about him. What makes it so good in your opinion? ;-)

I'm glad you enjoyed them though hon. Not enough sex or violence for me! Muhahaha! :P

P.S This entry does not show up on my friends page. I just used my physic powers to determine your update. ;-)

Haha...there are quite a few people that don't like them. I don't know - I enjoyed the stories. They're not my absolute favourite, but I find them enjoyable. And the last couple books were definitely dark with quite a bit of violence ;)

Although yes, not nearly enough sex for Taz! They did start out as children's stories dear, so kids shouldn't be reading porn like you ;)

This one showed up ok for me. You could read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, it's like a fantasy just like HP, 7 books and all. I really liked it.

Glad you were able to finish and avoid spoilers, not an easy feat. :)

Ahh good good :)

I actually have a lot to read...I was just so used to reading HP :P However, I have heard that Dark Tower is good, so I might have to check it out sometime :)

I'm also glad of that :D Quite relieved...I would have been pissed off I think! :P
