Whew...I think I'm finally up and running again. It'll sure be a long time before I want to touch any alcohol. But, why did it affect me? I wouldn't think that my systems could be influenced in the same ways as human beings...

Well, I guess I should take a lesson from this. Is everyone alright? How did you all get home last night?

No kidding. It was hard to put down that beer, though; once I took the first drink, I couldn't get enough. Is that what normally happens around here?

Eheh, when things like these pop up, it's really hard to state with any certainty what to consider "normal." But my experience was rather similar: I found myself there, decided just to have one drink, next thing I know, well...

My head is throbbing a bit still, but it's getting better! ...slowly.

I guess another lesson to pick up from this is "expect the unexpected when holidays roll around."

I wouldn't underestimate the power of the forces at work here. Even the few of us that stayed within our limits woke up with a pretty bad hangover.

I'm starting to gather that they would've gotten to us no matter what. All the island's beverages had been tainted, and people who didn't initially want to be at the Oktoberfest celebration showed up anyway.

What I don't understand, though, is why they'd go through all the trouble just to get us drunk.

Still. When I think about it, I can't imagine the hangover being anything but a means to an end.
