I've. Become a lurker now. This is because nothing generally interesting is happening in my life. Or, at least, nothing I'd deem worthy of jotting down here.
The worst part of that wank was that I got blamed for it. :/ Still funny as hell, though. the sf_drama post was actually witty for once.
Your novel sounds like tons of fun. I appreciate heterosexuality only because I'm sick of gay men everywhere. It's not that I don't accept homosexuality, it's just I'm sick of seeing gay this and gay that and gay everything. It gets boring after awhile.
Oh, shoot. Really? Somehow I missed the part where people jumped the shark. (Or did that happen in some off-hand journal?)
Eheh, just from the ships my if-there-were-fans would ship? :'D Admittedly, the canon has - so far - practically no sex and the only vaguely romantic scene occurs WAAAAAAAY late in the first book and before that there isn't even a hint that it's coming. There is, however, somewhat graphic child torture, which I'm planning to edit out/replace with something equally disturbing. This is one of the things I hate so much in fandom - the everyone being gay thing. Four-five people of both genders I could somewhat buy if there is a multitude of characters, but unless the story is set in an environment specifically for gay people - like a gay bar, the people who run it and the people who hang out there - I would believe in practically EVERYONE being gay. (And now I kinda-sorta want to read/write story like that.)
It happened in someone's private journal entry here they like, blamed me for it and I'm like "slow down crazy, slow down". (I am certain that to this day they still probably dislike me it for it. oh well, haters gonna' hate)
Equally disturbing? Well, I have no idea what could be on the same level but I trust your judgement!
Yeaaaah. Wow. (I tried to read some of that fic. Her earlier works are... okay. I found some ideas I liked there, but it wasn't anything particularly new or awsum for me. Years ago, I entered fandom craze with YGO Malik/Bakura fic which handled gore with a creepiness level +1, so MM's fic left me generally unimpressed. Her recent works are... let's paraphrase one review - "Kuroshitsuji fandom has generally many fanfics that confuse the reader. And not in a difficult words kinda way, but more in a "WTF? what happened" kinda way." This, right here. I think the ficwriters just want to appear so ~clever~ and very educated and give the fic that Victorian era ~flair with their writing.) Haters gonna hate. You're totes right on the money there.
TBH, I don't know myself yet. That's why I'm still in the editing process of the fic. SURELY THERE IS SOMETHING. >|
Admittedly, it doesn't have even a hint of the shipping. (Well, the only canon couple aside.) :'D It does have some in-canon pedophilia, a lot of hate, and a very high death rate. Butbut I think - maybe - I could share some non-spoilery parts of my novel as I go through it, editing.
No shipping doesn't bother me. I don't ship for at least half of my fandoms, and I'm perfectly happy reading everything else you've mentioned, so it's all good. ;]
Don't go out of your way to post things if you don't feel like it, but if you do, I would love that. <3
\o/ Awesome. Well, I was thinking of doing it anyway, because where I stand right now it's approximately 65k story with only 8 chapters. Yes, that's an average 8k long chapter. It's not a story. It's a fat monster. :'D
