I really, really love this chapter; how Harry is coming to terms with what Connor's sacrifice meant, and how he's not letting the grief drag him down, but accepting that he can carry on making a difference, not just for Connor and everyone else, but for himself aswell. The picture you made was peaceful, serene and bittersweet. And beautiful because you made it so realistic.
I think it was the perfect farewell, but it still aches and HURTS!
At least today no one is around for me to have to explain why I'm crying (they should be use to it by now, I've been doing it so much on the last few chapters!) Harry has come so far; as sad as the good-bye is, this chapter also is so full of hope for Harry's future. He seems to finally understand his place in the world and his own value.
*Kairi smiles sadly* I think I saw this chapter coming from the very first time you posted the outline to IAATB.
It doesn't make it any less beautiful.
This was such an appropriate tribute to Connor. Connor would have wanted to be remembered and honored, yes, but he would not have wanted that to consume Harry's life. He would have wanted Harry to live, not just exist. Otherwise, his sacrifice would have been in vain. So for Harry to visit him right before (what I suspect is) the culmination of his three-year dance with Draco and tell him how much he loved him… that's, well, enough. Harry will never forget him. He will never stop loving him. But he will move on.
