[Jack has since made his way back to Violet City after getting his egg, deciding it would be better for it to be inside; and that way, he could keep an eye on both the egg and Karp. Karp had slowly gotten used to the egg being around, though he still seemed to get jealous when Jack picked it up instead of him. He'd wriggle his way onto Jack's lap ( Read more... )

It... doesn't quite look like a Steel-type to me.

Two of my friends have them. One's head was nearly bitten off, and the other received a very enthusiastic hug. Treat your Karp well, and teach him to be careful with his shows of affection.

I... yeah...

[Well on the plus side, Karp does seem to love his owner quite a bit. Seeing as the two are pretty much inseparable now, hopefully not much will change once Karp evolves.]

Thanks for the heads up...

You're welcome. I try to warn people about the Magikarps, but I fear many still abuse them and find themselves attacked once they evolve.

Well... if they're abusing them, maybe they deserve to get attacked. Just saying.

Perhaps, but being told about Margikarp's power might help them learn to respect their Pokémon and treat them better. I have to at least try.

Well... I have to admit, I didn't respect Magikarp at first, either. But... I kind of was creeped out by being followed by a talking fish... so...

[He trails off, watching Karp thoughtfully.]

Gotta say, I'll kind of miss carrying the little guy around. He likes being wrapped up in my scarf, but... that won't really be possible once he evolves, huh?

None of us were expecting this. Being unsettled is perfectly normal.

After his evolution, perhaps he'll be the one to carry you around. He'll be strong enough to help you cross lakes and rivers, by then.

Yeah... might be awkward at night, though. He likes sleeping beside me, he even has his own pillow and everything...

[Baww Karp stay small forever]

Well, I suppose you'll have to find a bigger pillow, then.

Yeah... more like a bigger room.

[He pets Karp as he considers it.]

Well, I guess I'll wait and see just how much room he needs... and I hope he doesn't try sitting in my lap after.

Those inn rooms do seem rather ill-adapted to the taller species.

He might still be able to rest his head on it, at least. That's better than nothing.

Yeah... though maybe if you have a bigger Pokemon, you can say so and they might have bigger ones? I don't know, it just seems a little unfair to the bigger Pokemon if they can't leave their Pokeballs because nowhere accommodates them.

I've seen the inn rooms as far as Ecruteak, and none of them would be wide enough for a Gyarados or an Onix. That wouldn't be a problem in the middle of summer; they could always sleep outside and stretch as much as they want. But in January?
