Obligatory Election 2008 Stuff

I've been following this campaign more closely than any in recent years, save for the 2000 election when I was in my senior year civics class and we HAD to (although, we did it by watching the SNL debates. I <3 Mr. Benner 4eva.). If, by some chance you haven't followed any of it, I strongly recommend spending some ( Read more... )

I know (and I'm very happy about that - YAY BLUE STATE), but there's a few people that read this that are in other states, and haven't really been following the election. In fact, this whole post started off as a comment in another journal, then I decided it was far too long for that, and ought to be posted here.

The gubernatorial race is so fucktarded. I hate the commercials. I'd rather vote in a robotic monkey. HOWEVER, since I can't REALLY do that (I mean, I could, but for what purpose other than to protest?), I'm going to vote for Gregoire. She's actually done a good job with this state, IMO, and her endorsements are more respectable.

Amen sistah! Well said. I totally agree. I actually also think that McCain's choice of Palin as a running mate proves so much about him as a "decider." He was down to the wire, and chose her not because he thought she would be great in office, but because he thought that choice would win people to his side from the far right. Her qualifications scare me to death, especially considering that he's 72, with health problems. I used to actually respected McCain, but this campaign has ruined his reputation for me. And Palin is reason enough to vote against McCain!

Very nice - thank you! :D All I can say is what you (an informed person) have put across echoes my own first impressions of both candidates. :D
