Bubble tea is a fun, tasty drink, although not everyone likes it because of the texture of the "bobas," or tapioca pearls. I think they're a lot of fun to drink/eat.

The one I got yesterday was Mango bobachine (milk/ice blended, like a frappacino) with Lychee jelly. Nom nom nom.

I wonder if you could add Amaretto to something thick like chocolate or caramel, then reduce that? I haven't tasted Amaretto in a while, so I couldn't tell you if that was a good combo idea or not.

well, it's an "almond" flavored liqueur (although apparently it's made from peach pits... damnit, I have too much time on my hands at work to be looking this kind of thing up!). Chocolate goes with damn near anything, and I could definitely try melting some dark chocolate, or semi-sweet morsels and mixing in the amaretto. Could be VERY tasty (or conversely, could be horrid!). Wonder if I should try it with the Amaretto cheesecake I'm making for Friday?

I say make it for the cheesecake, but leave it on the side to try on a single slice instead of pouring over the entire dish. Or if you can maybe make a mini-cheesecake to go with the big one and try it that way...

The amaretto sauce I use:
1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar

Combine amaretto and cornstarch; stir until smooth.
Cook cream over medium heat, stirring often just until bubbles appear; gradually stir in amaretto mixture. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil, stirring constantly, 30 seconds. Remove from heat; stir in sugar, and let cool completely.
It's good for cake, ice cream, etc.

And can you please find me a Gretchen of my own to help me make more legwarmers?

that sounds DAMN good! I should try with Amaretto cheesecake y/n?

There needs to be more Gretchens in the world. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her!

Yes! Or even like a hazelnut or plain cheesecake would be good with it. It's pretty tasty, but a tablespoon is more then enough for me because the flavor is so strong.

New goal: learn to knit. I have been putting it off for a decade. If I can sew clothes for my dog, I can damn sure knit, right?

Chocolate amaretto ganache notlostonme February 11 2008, 05:38:47 UTC
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 cup chopped bittersweet chocolate (5 ounces)
1 teaspoon light corn syrup
1 tablespoon amaretto liqueur

In a small saucepan, heat the cream over medium heat until cream is hot and bubbles form around the edges of the pan. Remove from heat and add the chocolate, corn syrup and amaretto. Let stand for 4 to 5 minutes and then stir until smooth.

I have too many recipes.
