The first frost was two nights ago, and Mabon has changed beautifully for the season: his hair is the pure-white of an ermine or a hare, to blend in with what snows will come. His already dark eyes have turned black, and his skin is mottled darks and browns, like leaf mould on the ground

Miranda looks back at him with polite, cautious interest.

She laughs at the feeling of it, and pats its head.

Mabon looks pleased.

"I am Miranda," she offers with a small smile.

[lightningcurse]

"I am Mabon ap Modron."

[topofadmiration]

"A goodly name," more to the raccoon than to Mabon.

[lightningcurse]

"I come to it."

[topofadmiration]

"Indeed, sir?" She smiles with what could be called cheekiness, did her innocence not overwhelm all other expressions. "Should come, an I did call you?"

[lightningcurse]

A soft little barking laugh. "Yes."

[topofadmiration]

She laughs, too. "Perchance I shall."

[lightningcurse]

"I will come."

[topofadmiration]

She laughs again, then directs her attentions fully to the raccoon.

[lightningcurse]

The raccoon, while she stays, will make a very lovable and adorable playmate; but she must not expect them to behave like this unless Mabon is around and in a good temper.

But is Miranda-- from this day forward, she will doubtless trust raccoons completely.

Shockingly, this tendency hasn't gotten her into any trouble yet.
