Owl to Serafina Mendizabal, late afternoon, 10 Sept 1942...

Nov 14, 2007 10:40

In response to her letter. Written in Euskara, and strongly warded:

My dear sister,

If it were anyone but you, no, I would not believe it. The land was so blighted there, I could not imagine anything with even a trace of faerie blood could bear to go near it. If it was truly her sacrifice that restored the land, things must be desperate indeed for them to send her away from it. Please do give her my regards, and tell her I have never forgotten her.

I am all the better for your news. Father is doing as well as can be expected; the English weather does not suit him. The kitchen staff complain that he is too demanding, but you know they would not work so hard for anyone else.

I am sorry to hear that things are going badly for you. I wish I had some news for you on that front, but the hunters I trust most to know what is happening have not been here of late, and the ones who remain have said nothing of interest.

With love,
Raziel
