Biggish Snowstorm and Radial Icicles

After one of the driest and mildest winters on record, yesterday we had the biggest snowstorm in over two years. About 16 inches (40 cm) in just over 24 hours.

An today is bright and sunny. I just *love* spring in Colorado!

No photos of this storm, but below the cut is one from Dec 2007 of the most unusual icicles I've ever seen.

that is one cool icicle! I think I'd lay down and cry if it snowed here at this point...but it's New England, and it could well happen. Keep warm!

Oooooh, the elusive Rocky Mountain ice urchin. It feeds on the egg casings of the Rocky Mountain Spotted Squid. You had a close call!

I've never seen one anywhere nearly that good, but I've seen/had minor versions of that a couple of times. That's a great shot.
