Seriously.
It's... really upsetting.

Oddly, it seems there is a good chance the defense attorney who advanced that argument is the father of Allison Stokke, who developed unwanted internet fame as pictures of her pole vaulting resulted in her being christened "sexiest high school athlete" or some such. When pictures of his daughter appeared all over the internet, he was outraged that people were stalking his daughter online.

"I'm probably more sensitive to these things because of the cases I've seen over the years," he said. "I'm concerned that something negative could develop from it."

I really hope there's an appeal. This is a horrible verdict!
