Regardless of if their other roommate would come greet them upon the sounds of the three of them entering the kitchen, Edward isn't going to let Riza take a step past the threshhold of their home before he has a chance to pull her into a tight hug.
"Welcome home," he whispers against her hair, face pressed against the side of hers. "I've missed you."
Riza was surprised at the suddenness, but wasn't about to complain. She clung to him, weak and trembling and crying quietly, utterly exhausted and strung out of shape. If she said anything, the words dissolved away before they left her lips, and she sagged against him, becoming dead weight.
Edward holds her tightly, rubbing her back lightly. "Come on, let's get you some food and then get you laid down," he says, kissing her and guiding her towards the kitchen table. "Al, just set the suitcases down in the living room, I'll get them in a bit. Would you take Hayate out real quick for me?"
Riza let her mate lead her to the table, and she sat down, head in her arms. She was too tired, too ill, too much of everything to even think about eating. She only wanted to sleep, to curl up under the covers and not think. Not after a week of thinking far too much.
She was tired. Perpetually drowning used a great deal of one's energy. And her stomach was too tight, too knotted and uncooperative for anything to sound good.
But she was too tired to even argue that much. If he put food in front of her, she would try to eat it.
Now you're just being picky, Alfons. So tough titties.
Edward snerks. "Eh, the pig intestines isn't any weirder than any other meat dish, really. Bugs are a whole new level of weird. Just be glad fast food Chinese isn't as authentic as to include cat or dog meat."
He pauses, then smirks. "Actually, come to think of it, Jean would like their cuisine." YES HE HEARD ABOUT THE STIR-FRY COMMENT WHY DO YOU ASK.
Riza had rested her head on her arms while the two men continued their banter, and at Ed's reminder, she raised her hand for a salute with a solitary finger in way of a retort to that.
Ed? Your girlfriend is extremely cranky and whiny right now, which is amusing the unholy hell out of her mun.
Edward's eyebrows both raise, and he glances up at Alfons, before smirking and looking back to Riza. "I think it's time for you to get some sleep. Come on." He gets to his feet, placing his hand lightly on her arm in an offer to help her stand up.
Alfons has no idea what that was about! But he still looks amused. Serves Edward right, he's being a brat.
He's about to offer Edward some help because Riza looks half-dead, but then remembers Ed could probably snap him in half, so he should be able to handle it if Riza is more than unsteady.
"Hey," she whispered softly as she lifted her head off Ed's shoulder to look at Black Hayate. "C'mon, boy." She leaned on Ed as they walked to her bedroom. "You can leave the bags, I'll take care of them when I wake up," she told Al.
