Even when he was at the Company, even with the pills to negate his abilities, Peter still had dreams, and most of them were disturbing. He had always had vivid dreams, even as a kid. Nathan had been working late in his office, nursing a cup of coffee as he studied some reports, when he heard Peter screaming. He was out of his chair in moments, striding down the hall. He pushed his brother's door open. "Pete? You ok?"

He moved into the room, flipping on the light as he entered. His brother was still sleeping, trapped in whatever scenario his mind had cooked up. "Peter," he said, reaching down and touching his shoulder.

He wasn't thrashing around, just clinging to the blankets and the pillows. He didn't hear Nathan come in, not until he shook Peter's shoulder. He woke up with a start and sat up, pulling back at first in surprise until he realized it was Nathan. With a sigh, he eased a little and reached out to grab Nathan's arm. Left arm; the one that was burned. He wanted to make sure there was no injury hiding under there.

Peter pulled his arm back and rubbed his face. "I'm sorry. I thought the bad ones were over."

"It's ok, Peter," he said softly. He sat on the edge of the bed and gazed at his brother. He reached out and gently stroked the younger man's hair. "What was it?" he asked.

The action was soothing, and it helped him feel safer. It was just home, he was safe; Nathan was safe. Peter rubbed his eyes again. "It um.. I don't even know if I can describe it very well," he said. "It was you. But.. the other you. The one with the burns..." He sighed softly. "He wouldn't leave me alone."
