I make jewelry and joined this comm mainly to ask if anyone has a good close up of Martha Jones's red and silver necklace? Or knows what it's made of? And possibly whether there is cultural significance to it? But most of all, does anyone have any idea where the silver pendant came from or what it's called ( Read more... )

Honestly, I've always been more fascinated by her butterfly tatoo, but there are many Martha fans here-- I'm sure someone will contact you before the end of the day with either better information or where to look.

I know the actress honors her Persian heritage and have come pretty close by googling "Persian silver jewelry," but remained stunned that "martha jones necklace" doesn't hit anything.

She honors both her parent's heritages, but if the necklace belongs to Doctor Who rather than to Freema you might try their BBC website. Also try googling 'Freema Ageyman jewelry' then look at products from both Ghana and Iran.

Jewelry from Ghana is a different flavor of craft from Iranian, though both are gorgeous. I found many pieces that share elements with the necklace Freema wears onscreen; enough so that I wonder if it isn't some kind of fusion.
