got lunch at the LBC today as per normal.

The person who rang up my order, late-20s black woman, gave me my receipt and said, "i named my son Mendel."

How about that.

When I was working at OMSI, one day I went to the cafeteria for lunch, and the nametag of one of the people serving said Phylicia. It was crazy. And then I found out she was also studying at UO, *and* in the Japanese department like me. We even ended up in some of the same classes together.
