something's changed on the backend of facebook because suddenly my firefox gets pissed off trying to load certain pages and hangs. Mostly my wall or other people's walls. When i clear out the cookies and cached sessions &c of my browser, it still happens, but when i try to load any fb page out of google chrome, i have no issues.

There's an ad.js that ABP blocks, turn it on and everything works again....

ive been having this weird thing happening wondered if it might have something to do with what you are talking about. sometimes i open facebook and the screen starts flickering.. this have something to do with that?

Same problems here. There's some discussion over on facebook about it--try the last page. A couple of good suggestions that seem to work for people (including me):

• disable the /adnetwork filter, or
• add this to your exceptions:
  @@|http://b.static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/*/adnetwork/adnetwork.js
