Sansa had been to the clinic the day before on her own - she had an idea of what the test required and that she could do on her own. Even though she was quite sure of her condition, confirmation would be nice to have. Dr. Keller had agreed it was likely before performing the test that would take a day ( Read more... )

"And I've never been so excited to hear it," said Caspian, squeezing her arm. He had to resist the urge to fuss over her already, and had to remind himself that she had been perfectly fine the first time round without him following her about every step she took. Somehow he did not think that the part of an expectant father required him to fret like an old woman, but he thought that at some point he would not be able to help it.

Sansa kissed his cheek happily as they arrived at the smaller clinic where she had arranged to see Dr Keller for the second day in a row. (Although she was eager to tell her family, she hardly wanted Jon to learn he was to be an uncle again by overhearing especially when he was meant to be recovering.) She hadn't even meant to tell Susan yet - thought she was glad she had.

"Come on then," she said finding herself uncharacteristically impatient (but sure Caspian would not mind.) She smiled at Dr. Keller as they entered. She barely stopped smiling these days when she let herself think on her condition. "Hello Dr. Keller, this is my husband Caspian of Narnia." She had told Caspian all about Dr. Keller - who'd she'd known she wanted to see as soon as she had realised. She'd found it much easier last time having a female doctor - Dr Claire had been very understanding.

Jennifer had to admit to herself that this was completely weird--she'd grown up reading those Narnia books, and now here she was looking after his wife and child. If that wasn't something.... she didn't let that show, though, instead shaking Caspian's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you," she said happily. "I suppose you're both here to hear Sansa's test results?"

She could have just come out with it already, but she'd always found that when it was a wanted pregnancy, drawing the happy news out a little somehow made things more exciting for the parents-to-be.

"Yes please," said Sansa with yet another hopeful smile. It had been odd in a way - she hadn't had a test when she had been carrying Eddara - but there would not have been one in Westeros for all the Maester's learning. Oh they could tell a woman was with child by her symptoms of course - as Sansa has worked out on her own and Dr. Keller could have done if this test was not available. But the fact that it was an absolute certain proof that she was to give Caspian a child of his own blood appealed to Sansa a great deal.
