Sansa did not like the days when Caspian sailed at the best of times, though of course she would never say so. But she missed him and ever since the arrival of his son, she found her nerves shot through with anxiety of a fear she had always had and never allowed herself to voice. She had tried to tell herself it was foolish - that it did not mean Caspian was going to vanish, but another part of her insisted that was exactly what it meant and she found herself treasuring every moment with him at the same time she tried to hide any hint of worry and resentment.
She knew that Caspian did not like her to keep things to herself but she could not be churlish enough to show she was anything but pleased that he had his son. No matter what she felt, she would show him only that she shared in his joy and perhaps eventually she might actually feel that way. But not today because if she missed Caspian on the best of days today was not that. Eddara had screamed and wailed and refused to nap, eat or be put down all day. Most of the time between sobs she had been calling for "Dada," in a piteously hard done by voice. Sansa didn't know what it was she was doing wrong exactly but it made her heart catch with further fear - it would not just be her who lost Caspian if he did vanish but Eddara as well. The thought of that made Sansa want to weep (and she did a bit but only after Eddara hit her in the eye with a wooden sheep during a tantrum.)
The sight of Sansa quieting surprised Eddara enough that she quieted, and even behaved long enough for Sansa to stop crying, wash her face and prepare a small meal for when Caspian returned. She had no appetite herself and Eddara refused more than a little bite of fruit.
When Eddara cheerfully flung herself at Caspian's legs on his arrival Sansa no longer was surprised but the sight of him soothed her nerves enough that she did not feel the need to tell him about her awful day. She kissed his cheek and took Eddara from him. "I'll put her to bed while you eat," she suggested as Eddara blinked sleepily at them both.
