Rating/Notes/Warnings: Green Cortina, 900 words.
Recommendation Comment: This is the series subverted - which I guess, isn't a surprise, given the author. It's a really interesting and different take on what could have happened regarding Sam's 'accident'. Maya is strong and fantastic in this.

Recommendation Comment: Okay, so, is it bad of me to rec a story inspired by one of my own? Probably. But I actually think Andy does the concept more justice. It's darker than my one, and has a thousand little paradoxes. I love the construct.

Recommendation Comment: The Sam/Annie is so mild in this, that I had to rec it here. This is so dark, it makes my heart ache. The style is phenomenal and the concept is deeply disturbing. The story builds, piece by piece, until you're hoping that what you think is happening is wrong. But it isn't. Beautiful.

Recommendation Comment: Sam chose to stay in 1973, and so he does. Forever. It's a chilling concept and a wonderful remedy for the LoM finale blues.

Recommendation Comment: Hmpf has a way of placing words just so. This is a beautiful piece that packs a hell of a punch in less than 500 words.

Recommendation Comment: What can I say? This is one of the ultimate evil!Sam fics. It inspired me to write in this fandom and still gives me the warm fuzzies.

Recommendation Comment: I love disturbed/evil/psycho Sam and this is one of the best stories of the genre that I've read. It's oppressively dark and Loz pulls off Sam's madness beautifully.

Recommendation Comment: Great dramatic tension (see the title - it's true!), genuine ambiguity of the characters' motives so that you're reading as fast as you can to find out how it will end and a tone spot-on the darker moments of the series itself. Could have been an episode and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.

Recommendation Comment: Aside from the fact it's one of my favourite fics EVER (in this fandom or outside it), it's incredibly well-written, chilling, dark, and cuts to the bone. It also helps set right my dissatisfaction with the canon ending, although I wouldn't necessarily call it "fix-it fic." ;)
Also recommended by strangeumbrella who said: Because you become as desperate and twisted as Sam while reading it; slightly sickening in an incredibly compelling way, and months later, I'm still a bit unsettled by the ending.
Just Sleep, and Sleep by maestro1123
Rating/Notes/Warnings: PG-13 for bad language, themes of an adult nature, mild peril. No spoilers.
Recommendation Comment: It's, again, incredibly bleak and real. It just feels right. It's all about believable extrapolation with me, and Maestro did it completely right here. I can't rec this fic enough.

Rating/Notes/Warnings: Rated M, for language and violence. All parts at writer's journal.
Recommendation Comment: It is dark and twisted and perfect in so, so many ways. The author effortlessly weaves together sections in 2007, 1980, and 1973; there are so many little bits of revelation where you go, "Of course! That's it exactly! Why didn't I see it before?!" As someone who doesn't go for slash, I love to see a fic that sketches out such a complex and interesting relationship between Sam and Gene, and without neglecting the rest of the gang, or a great plot. Absolutely brilliant.
Please keep in mind that I live in Australia and shall therefore likely be asleep whilst many links are posted, so if the post isn't updated straight away, don't worry, it will be!
