Chris's character is just so achingly sad, like all good comic relief should be. I just want to take him home and wrap him up in blankets and feed him pastry...or something. Also, LOL at Sam being irritatingly calm, except, you know, when he's not.
I loved the imagery, especially this:they’d all see dawn rising over the beer pumps, and they all knew it, and it made them race each other to the finish line. Same as every Friday. Very poetical.
Thankyou so much! I must admit I've got a huge soft spot for Chris (if you didn't, your heart might have to be, like, made of pure iron and EVIL... or something), and in the final episode, he broke my heart. All loveable characters have to be a bit broken on the inside... Look at Lupin.
But, aye, thankyou very much: well chuffed by your comment!
Also, I was stalking you having a bit of a snoop in your journal and think it might be a bit of a crying shame if I didn't at least ask you if you wanted to friend? :D
YES! God, I love him: he's such a wonderful character... But quite tricky to get a hold on (whereas Sam and Gene are rife with obvious problems/insecurities, you know?).
Thankyou so, so much: that's a really stunningly lovely thing to say! :D xxxx
This works wonderfully - you seem to have captured Chris and his confusion, wish to please and be a better policeman and everything about him. Just lovely.
