Really nicely done. It almost makes *me* want to go back. Except I was 11 in 1973, and I'm still traumatized by the fashions. ;-) Also I would not want to go through what Annie has to go through in the workplace. But on everything else, you've convinced me! Very well written indeed.

I'm very glad you liked the fic; I wasn't born yet, so I have tendency to romanticize the era just bit more than I should, especially with a challenge like the one that I had :) Thanks very much for the lovely comment.

Gorgeous fics...it's hard to pick a favourite; they're all lovely. I wasn't even born until ten years after 1973 but everything is just so damn true. You've made me horribly nostalgic now.

I'm very glad that you liked it :) I was born in 82, so I never had to live through it, and the challenge made me really want to romanticize the era, so I did. I'm glad the fic showed that, and thanks very much for commenting.

From what I remember of the tail end of the 80s, political correctness and the lawsuits obsession was only just starting to kick in. People certainly weren't getting arrested just for opening their mouths yet and I don't think the Nanny State culture or that of dumbing down everything, especially education, had begun properly either.

I think sometimes we do get too nostalgic and too wrapped up in the ideal that "things were better then", but I also don't think we're always wrong to think that...I think some aspects of the past really were better than many aspects of today. Not all, but some.

I have to say, I loved this! It was beautifully written and I'll echo what others have said: I was 16 in 73 and this makes me want to go back right now! My favorites were one and five. I remember all the bad things and how women were treated and it's really true but in the end, there was some kind of magic about those days and the music and freedom were a big part of that.

everything wasn't perfect in 1973, but that's the thing about falling in love, isn't it, that one only sees the best in the object one's affection

Oh, that's EXACTLY what I was trying to convey in this! Thank you so much for the lovely comment, I'm glad that you enjoyed it :)

Oh, thanks very much, I'm glad that you liked them! I'm in awe of your ability to spin up anything along the spectrum of emotion for these characters, even putting them into silly situations that I doubt would ever happen, and still make it completely and totally believable and in character, so getting a compliment from you makes me very happy, indeed. Thanks!
