Title: At the End of the Day
Rating: White Cortina
Word Count: 1200+ words.
Notes: I’ve decided, with the aid of my beautiful Life on Mars calendar, that July should be Annie month. So I’m going to try an Annie-centric fic/ficlet a week - because you know what? Annie is made of awesome. And I think we sometimes forget that, what with the shiny cars ( Read more... )

Maybe that is what this comm needs - months dedicated to the minor characters that were underused =)

Loz, I love this. Annie is a smart, intelligent woman, ahead of her time, but so of the time as well. And your fic shows it.

It'd be nice, wouldn't it?

Now, thankfully, Chris and Ray are getting the attention they deserve. What about Phyllis? What about Nelson?

Thank you :D

Well there are many months left of the year - maybe dedicate August to Phyllis.

Wonderful stuff! Thanks so much for this great picture of Annie, just Annie in her flat. I loved it. Can't wait to read more!

Just realized I have no Annie icons at the moment. This must be rectified!

I have been really waiting for this type of dialog between Sam and Annie, it really makes them real to me and not just cardboard cut outs. Now you know why Sam fell for her, she's got substance and I just love the cheekiness about this sceen! Love it lots...thanks Loz!

This was wonderful to read because it was a little insight into Annie's life and, obviously, we never could see that in the show. :(

I adore Annie. Sometimes, Annie came dangerously close to becoming a Mary Sue but she never did. I think the reason is because Annie had all the qualities you portray her as having, especially her snarkiness, which come across realy well in this fic! It is brilliant.

Annie month is a fantastic idea!

Thank you :D

Oh, yes - Annie had the potential to be too idealised, but the writers did pull away from that, and Liz was fantastic at portraying multiple sides to Annie's character.

Oh, this is just amazing! Count me amongst the hordes that thought Annie was incredibly variant and uneven in the show, as well as horribly underused. I love the way that your Annie is so much like all of the men in CID, neglecting her plant and not getting around to the shopping, and yet so different, not crawling into a bottle and telling daft jokes to overcome everything. The dialogue between her and Sam in this is also great - spot on perfect, just like all their best dialogue in the show, and very cute, on top of that.

Thanks very much for writing this, and for declaring it Annie month! I'm going to have to do an Annie fic sometime this month, just to help bolster the cause. :)

Yes, please, bolster away :D

I don't think Annie's as contradictory as Gene as a character, but because we see a lot less of her, it does seem like it. And then Matt and Ash decided they needed to ramp up the tension between her and Sam to keep their relationship interesting, so that added some disparity.

Thanks :)
