Searching for a vid

So I've gone headfirst back into LoM fandom the past few weeks - its been a delight rewatching the show after a few years and going back to rediscover all the old (and some new) fics.

There is one thing I have been hunting for since the start though which I cant find. There was a fanvid, Sam/Gene, set to Imogen Heap's 'Hide and Seek'. I've had the ( Read more... )

Hey, there! *waves* Glad you're rewatching LoM :D

I absolutely remember this vid, it's one of my all time faves, I also watched it so many times and kept it saved on a memory stick. It's by evil_demandred (who also wrote Some Days Nothing Goes Right) and they've since purged their LJ? There might be a fandom etiquette issue with sharing a vid which someone has removed...but for the sake of nostalgia? It's been 12 years. I have some space on my Dropbox, it's 40MB. Hopefully you can view it at this link:

Sorry I can't figure out how to make Dropbox allow things to be downloaded, it's possible that's now a paid feature, yikes.

Wow, I remember that vid! Thanks for the link, TalkingToTheSky - it worked for me, I was able to 'direct download' it, so now it's safely stored on my laptop.

It's been a while since we rewatched LoM (my husband enjoys it almost as much as I do). Might have to remedy that... It's been ages since I last logged on here, too - April 2018-ish, I suspect. It makes me feel rather sad that no-one comes here anymore... but like all good things, it passes, I guess. I have to say that the standard of LoM fanfic was excellent - comparable to and sometimes even surpassing mainstream, traditionally published fiction. I'd always wanted to write, and after penning a ton of LoM & Dr Who fanfic, wrote and published original fic. I'm still writing. Probably won't ever make the best-seller lists, but hey-ho.

I'm off now - perhaps to reappear in a few weeks, months, years...who knows?!?

Peace x

Hey Edzel!! How are you?

The community moved over to Dreamwidth in 2017 (see tag "dreamwidth back-up"), not that there is much going on over there nowadays :(

Hi Lethe,

I'm good, thank you - looking forward to becoming a Grandma next month, would you believe?!?

I seem to remember something about Dreamwidth, not sure if I ever registered over there, though. I'll take a look.

Yeah, the fandom has gone very quiet, but hopefully that may change if 'Lazarus'makes it to the small screen... we can but hope!

Funnily enough, hubby and I have not long finished a LoM rewatch, and now we're on A2A. Enjoying both!

See you over on Dreamwidth, hopefully....
Edzel2

Wow, a grandma! How time flies :) Are you still shouting "willies!" occasionally? ;)

Watching Sky's video upload, I thought I must do a rewatch one of these days. LoM is still my favourite TV series ever.

And every time I hear Shipbuilding (Robert Wyatt version) on the radio, I get a craving to rewatch A2A. I love them both.

Yes, see you on Dreamwidth!

Oh, wow!

I cant believe someone answered - and that you were able to find it! I am so so grateful. I'm absolutely the same about this video - it was always my fav and I watched it over and over but the laptop i downloaded it on is long dead now.

I cant believe its been 12 years, either. I do have to say for anyone thinking about rewatching - the show is still absolutely brilliant, and holds up flawlessly. If it wasnt for the old ipod in Sam's car when he's run over and the Britney references, it could easily have been made in the last couple of years.

Agreed, too, about the quality of the fic. Can't tell you how much of a joy it is to be reading Loz's work again!

Long live the LoM fandom!
