So. Fucking. Cute.

This is pure brilliance, but the most special thing is that Gene is Calvin and Sam is Hobbes. Oh the nuance!

I take so much pleasure in how happy they are! The grins! The physical joy!

Hahah, thank you! I'm glad you like it <333

It's nice to see them happy, since it's not so common in the series itself.

I can't decide who's more childish in the end but I sort of would have expected Sam to be Calvin because of all his frustration and his wondering whether Gene is real (Hobbes being real only to Calvin--to everyone else he is a mere plushie), plus Gene's a lion--lion/tiger... still Gene's blond hair and pompous attitude does fit him in the Calvin role pretty well, and Sam's I'm-so-much-smarter-and-more-cultured-than-you attitude does suit Hobbes, not to mention the nose!

In any case, these drawings made me do a lot of giggling! I LOVE Calvin and Hobbes, and you did all the expressions so well. The positions are awesome... perfect parody!

Believe me, I spent a long time back in 2012 deciding who would be who. I considered those factors, even thinking maybe it'd be vice-versa just for the height difference.

But when It came down to it, I decided that it's best the way it is just based on personality. Because Gene is a little shit, and Sam is the conscience in the back of his head that he'll occasionally listen to when he feels like it. Usually after his own plans have crashed and burned.

I'm glad you like it though. u u

GOSHHHHH I love these. A LOT. I have to admit that - even remembering your last C&H/LoM mashup - I automatically expected Sam to be the smaller one out of the two (bc you know, delicious height difference), but of course the way you did it fits the best, considering what the characters represent.

And that being said, I LOVE this little... what do I even call it? Sequence? I remember this comic strip and I remember loving it loads, and you emulated the style perfectly YET AGAIN. I think my favourites are the 2nd from the top and 3rd from the bottom, plus the bow at the end. Perfect art, thank you so much for this little gem. ♥

Yeah, I think that was everyone's natural inclination, but as everyone is discovering, it works better the other way.

Espcially when put in the context of the comic strip.

Really though, it all comes back to Bill Watterson's genius at simple story-telling, which is the real thing to thank.

And thank you for the sweet words. u vu

I really love this so much, okay? You emulated the style so perfectly, and yeah, you'd expect Gene to be Hobbes because of the height, but their personalities match so much better the way you've portrayed them here (and in your older one as well).

This is just so awesome :3 I really adore the bow at the end, and I have a whole lot of love for the original comic strip as well... This set of pictures just makes me really happy?
