The sketchy shadows on Sam's jacket are great, I love their expressions (Sam looking towards Gene like that seems SO SAMMMM nnnngh), how adorable the entire picture is, the little whumpy details -- the scratches and even Sam being banged up a little and just.... oh god the smug little relaxed looks on their faces are SO PRECIOUS asa;j;aaa I AM SO HAPPY. Sam holding Gene's coat is just an awesome touch, as are the pictures on the back of the bed.
The subject of this image makes me very very happy, because it involves Gene whump and that is a thing that I love. Other things I love about this image include: your incredibly neat but super effective shading, the perspective on the bed because though I am not an artist I can imagine that was hard to get right, and same goes for the wrinkles in the bedding and sheets. Also their toes are nearly touching eeeeeeeeee. And Sam's cradling Gene's coattttttt. And he's a little scraped up in the face too, I imagine he smacked a couple of bastards out cold getting Gene out of whatever situation he was in, because he was a bamf and has every right to look smug about it.
