Oh man, I wanted to comment on this straight after reading it, but that WAS past midnight, so. XD

Xys oh Xys this is absolutely beautiful. What strikes me the most is that it is so very true to canon, in their dialogue and their interactions, and the entire set-up in general. I love all the instances you described - Gene panicking upon Sam seeing him in the noddies was adorable and hilarious, and I think you got their way of not resolving the conflict for ages just right. <333333333 Oh and, Gene leading that last interrogation the way he did? Perfect, priceless, and made me go "AWWWWWWWWW" on top because dayum, Sam being so surprised and also proud of Gene is just <333333333333333333333

A really nice idea for a theme, and thoughtfully written (as if I would ever expect anything else).

I have a massive crush on the phrase 'what a mess' in Gene's voice, and it was so well placed in the first story. Plus anything where characters hold hands gets my vote. The non-bet bet over the curry is a beauty as well, I can absolutely picture it happening.

I could be here all day but I'll leave it at that, since I have so much to catch up on!
