This may not be complete yet but it's already just soooo good. I love the way Sam gets into Gene's space and just won't leave it alone; their mutual stubbornness and the way Sam knows he's reached the point where he should let it go but he just keeps pushing instead. And Annie's targeted admonishments suggest that she realizes that, too. <3

You've got me dying of curiosity! What's got Gene so upset? The knee-jerk reaction seems to indicate it's something to do with Sam, certainly. Also loved the wonderful touch where Sam temporarily forgot just how willing Gene is to sock him one when he oversteps the mark.

Ah, so many possibilities for the remainder of this tale! I will be waiting patiently but with great anticipation. :D

Dude, I hear you on that one. I went back to work after all that vacation I just had and it was like "Wait, what happened to all that extra time I had for writing? Dangit!" I make no apologies for the expression 'dangit," because it seems oddly applicable in this case. XDDDD

That is SO flattering, considering that I always feel like I'm failing at Gene writing! I just have such masters to learn from; I've always admired Fawsley for pure Gene!vernacular, or Loz for astounding Gene snark. But to know that I've succeeded a bit is lovely!
