The little details of Sam comforting him, and Gene's confusion- damnnnn you wrote that so well, him not quite knowing what was going on around him, that was very well done. Just a great fic all over! Which prompt was this for?

Oh, and uhm: in the description, you say Gene is fatally injured... so am I missing something? Probably me being silly, but I didn't see him die anywhere in this.

Oh yeah, you do have a point there... I didn't even think about that XD. Should probably change it from fatally injured; I don't even know why I wrote it like that. Thanks for pointing it out!

Awwww! At first it's just like a typical canon car chase, and then it all goes balls-up! I also love Gene's confusion and that you gave us all that stuff from his POV--the confusion and vague impressions...

And then the cuteness of his confession of love! Hee her!

I loved writing the bits from Gene's point of view. I always have the best of luck when either writing through the mind of someone who is clinically insane or who is in a daze of some sort. And I know, Sam's concern for Gene is so touching. Even if he thinks he's a bull-headed plonk sometimes, we all know Sammy cares deep down <3

I would LOVE to see that conversation between Gene and his missus XD. I have no idea of what the outcome would be o.o

I like the way you show Gene being so matter of fact despite everything. And especially he hoped someone wasn’t dying. What a bloody nuisance that would be.

Yes, I always picture Gene to be in control of the situation even when he's not physically or mentally capable of doing so. And yeah, I even had to slap myself a little for that line. I just love doing things like that XD
