Xyssssss, so sorry I didn't comment on this at the time, it must have made me cry too much and then I forgot to come back. Was less of a shock the second time round, anyway. I adore the Gene angst and my favourite line was Sam craving Gene's love but Gene's too busy grieving to love, that was perfect. Post-apocas are really great and you handled this brilliantly.
