Am slightly confused as to whether his wife actually existed or not
I've got at least five different head-canons about the Missus so fair enough it's a bit confusing here too. in most cases, I do see her as fully absent, but whether by choice or some more sinister possibility... I've always preferred it open-ended that way, given the larger ambiguity of LoM. :)
Glad the ambiguity doesn't bother you too much though, and thanks so much for the lovely comment!

Really enjoyed this luv, it is fantastic.
I really like this portrayal of Mrs Luckhurst, it fits in well with what we see of her and then adds so much more to the character.
And, as always, you capture Gene brilliantly, his thoughts, all the layers and complexity he has, and his physical presence and charisma as well.
And love how this is all about Gene and Sam even when we don't see much of Sam himself.

That Mrs. Luckhurst is quite the lady. And I love that she knows that Gene's heart belongs to Sam ...
‘And what if he says no?’
‘As if he could,’ she murmured.
Damn.

And yes, Gene totally belongs to Sam, I just couldn't help letting that fabulous Mrs. Luckhurst have her turn. :)
Thank you!

This is a lovely piece of work, Sev. It has all these fantastic little details, like her lighter, the underwear, her skin and I love the set-up of while he can't bring himself to look at her directly she's seeing right through Gene.
Oh, and that last sentence just nails it home.
Thanks. :D

Wonderful portrayal of Mrs Luckhurst, she really is a fine figure of a lady!
Favourite lines:
he growled softly around his waiting cigarette
And Gene calling out after her, in spite of himself, ‘And what if he says no?’
Aww, Gene! *loves*
