Dreamwidth Import Update
Hello everybody!
It's been a while since I opened a query as to whether this community should mirror on Dreamwidth so that we have a back-up should all go awry. The verdict so far was that many members were in favour of this happening. Therefore, it is happening January 28th.
A few notes...
1. We've had the suggestion that the LJ version of Lifein1973 remain the central hub of comments and posts, so that members don't have to follow two platforms for one conversation. There really isn't anything I can do other than say "please don't comment or post exclusively on the Dreamwidth comm" to enforce this. All I can do is reiterate that the whole idea of the Dreamwidth mirror is so that it's a back-up, not migration.
If LJ is down for several days and a mod or two are about on Dreamwidth, they may well open it up for commenting and content; just keep in mind that this scenario is the exception, not the rule.
2. Weekly imports at Dreamwidth will occur so that the back-up comm stays relatively up-to-date.
3. Please post about/signal boost the following poll. We need to let everyone who may have been in LoM fandom at one stage or another and posting/commenting at this comm that this poll exists.
It will remain open and requests will be enacted as long as this comm is active. I will also post the occasional reminder that opting-out is perfectly allowed.
